strawberry banana smoothieI was recently on an eat all you can buffet, which I love, so I can try out a
bit of all the delicious desserts on offer here in Malaysia. Suddenly my eye saw a chocolate strawberry plate. Not the chocolate fruit type but a strawberry covered in chocolate.

Yet Malaysia is a country of tropical fruit, and the fresh fruit strawberries that are imported need to be hard and not too ripe. And you could taste it in this strawberry chocolate: you only taste the chocolate with some strange kind of fresh fruit taste…

If you don’t live next to a strawberry farmer, your best option is to chose the most ripe looking strawberries in a shop and make a strawberry drink the same day! Consume strawberries as quick as possible or freeze them in for another smoothie drink!

Strawberry banana smoothie ingredients

Another back to basics smoothie recipe making about 1 pint (500 ml) of fresh fruit smoothie. If you want to make bigger quantities in 1 go, we keep on recommending a separate smoothie blender or smoothie machine :) Otherwise use a mortar and pestle to crush the ice and mix all ingredients with a mixer.

  • 5 1/4 ounce (150 gr) strawberry
  • 3.5 ounce (100 gr) yogurt
  • 1 big banana (about 3.5 ounce 100 gr)
  • 1 1/2 to 2 ounce (45-60 gr) brown sugar (about 2 soupspoons)
  • 3.5 ounce (100 gr) ice-cubes
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk

Strawberry banana smoothie preparation


  1. Place all ingredients in the cup of an electric blender, milkshake maker or food processor and blend until smooth. If you only have a mixer, then use a mortar to crush the ice before mixing it.

  2. This is a cool refreshing smoothie drink, not too thick. Add more sugar if needed and blend again.
